HAND WASHING INSTRUCTIONS
Never submerge in water! Not dishwasher or microwave safe!
Wipe with a warm, wet cloth or rinse with hot water and dry with a clean towel. It’s important to clean and dry your cutting board and wood utensils IMMEDIATELY after use!
To get a natural deep clean, use a warm cloth to dampen the surface and sprinkle it with coarse salt. Next, cut a lemon in half and scrub the board with the cut side. Let it sit for about 5 minutes. Then wash with hot water and scrub brush. Dry immediately.
To remove stains and deodorize your cutting board and utensils, mix together 2 tablespoons of baking soda, 1 tablespoon of salt, and 3 tablespoons of hot water in a small bowl. Use this mixture to scrub your board or utensil, then rinse with hot water and dry immediately.
CONDITIONING
The cutting board is one of the most used kitchenwares. We recommend conditioning your cutting board and wooden utensils at least once a month. Mineral oil is the most popular because it is food-safe and cost-effective (you can find it at your local drugstore). A beeswax and mineral oil “cutting board conditioner” can be purchased online or at your local hardware store, which will have the penetrating qualities of mineral oil with the sealing qualities of beeswax. Vegetable, olive, and nut oils should be avoided because they can spoil and smell rancid, which can transfer to the food you are preparing.
It is important to start with a clean and dry cutting board or utensil. Apply oil using a clean cloth and spread evenly over the surface. Let it sit and soak in for a couple of hours or overnight. Wipe any excess oil off with a clean, dry cloth and you’re ready to go!
